American Flag with the Statue of Liberty, the symbol of hope for many immigrants

Waiting in anticipation during the immigration application process can be frustrating for many,
and although you cannot affect how fast your case is processed, you do have the option to
check on your immigration case status for updates, either online or by phone.
When U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) receives your application or
petition, it mails you a “receipt notice” and processes your case in the order received by
application type. The 13-character application Receipt Number can be found on application
notices you have received in a box in the upper left corner of the page.  With your 13 character
receipt number, you can check the status of your immigration case online.

To check the status of your immigration case online, click on the link below which will take you
directly to the U.S. Citizen & Immigration Services ("USCIS") online case status search page.
